Updated list from May 2019
I am 3 years into this challenge and seemingly I’ve scarcely begun, not because I’ve not been reading but because I’ve not been posting reviews. I hope to redress that this year. Hi Sandra! I noticed you followed me a while ago, but I couldn’t figure out how to find your blog. (Your name isn’t hyperlinked, and your blog isn’t shown on your gravatar profile. I finally found it in my notification bar, but now I can’t remember how, ha ha.)
I’m excited to find another person doing the Classics Club challenge!
You have SO MANY excellent titles on your list. TESTAMENT OF YOUTH!! 84, Charing Cross Road. Charlotte’s Web (my favorite book as a child!) THE HOUSE OF MIRTH! Little Men, Villette, Mansfield Park!
So many good titles waiting for you! Best wishes with this! 🙂

Hi Jillian, thanks for persevering and finally finding me! Sorry about the difficulties. I think I’ve sorted out a few glitches; I’ll work on the others 🙂
And thank you for your kind words re my rather long list. Yes, there are so many titles there that I’m really looking forward to – and a few that I’m a little scared of! It’ll be great to have your thoughts as I work through them all.

What a great list! So many fantastic books on there – the Dickens, of course, but also The Go-Between, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, The Wind in the Willows, etc. So much variety and I like that you’ve included some more recent books in there – always fun to try to work out what contemporary books will be classics of the future…

Yup, those 3 you’ve highlighted are all books I’m mad keen to read (or re-read in the case of WitW). As for the more recent titles I’ve included – in part it’s because I hope to end up with my own personal list of classics but also because I’m keen to try to distill just what it is that makes a book a classic and thus get a clearer idea of what contemporary titles may be headed down that path.
